Beer that doesn't measure up

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2015

Tell me it isn't so. I quit buying Singha beer after discovering they had reduced the size of their case bottles to 500ml. I switched to Leo, still 630ml, and Chang just to mix it up. I enjoy both products and am delighted with the switch.

However, I just bought a case of Chang Classic and, thinking it looked a little bit small, I checked the contents, only to discover that the bottles had been reduced from the previous 630ml to 620. A 10ml drop might not seem like much – and perhaps Chang thought no one would notice – but it enables the beer-maker to save 12 litres per hundred cases sold.
Is this a trend we will see for other products – giving people less for the same price?
I guess I will have to go with Leo for now, but I will be keeping an eye on the content and volume.
Cheers,
