MORE THAN 100 actors, actresses, and directors and producers gathered recently at Parc Paragon in introduce the 10 new drama series scheduled for screening on high-definition digital channel (36) PPTV in 2016.
“In the first quarter of next year, we will be producing 10 new series that promise to be dramatic and romantic with beautiful scenes and melodious songs. Some are adapted from famous novels and from the Dekdee.com website, ‘Rak Ron Online The Series’, and others are remakes. We will also be broadcasting ‘Miti Rak Phan Lens’ that focuses on Thailand's picturesque scenery and ‘Mor Phi’, which is about science and black magic,” says Kematat Paladesh, president of Bangkok Media & Broadcasting (BMB), which runs PPTV.
“The shows will go out every day of the week, not just at weekends.
“And because we have many viewers living outside Bangkok, we are also producing the cultural-oriented ‘Thida Pha Sin’ and ‘Mon Rak Song Fang Klong’ featuring luk thung songs and comedians.”
Screams reverberated around the open space as the actors and actresses from “Rak Ron Online The Series” (“Bad Romance”), K-otic's Thai-Japanese singer Witsawa “Tomo” Thaiyanont and Pimnitchakun “Maengmum” Bumrungkit, and Pakorn “Tul” Thanasrivanitchai and Nathapol “Mac” Diloknavarit waved to the crowds. Pattaratida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong and Thassapak “Bie” Hsu from “Sa Neh Rai Ubai Rak” underlined their chemistry by duetting on “Pen Dai Khae Nan”.
Organised on the theme “Melody of Stars”, the event featured shows by the casts of all 10 dramas and kicked off with a performance by the stars of “Miti Rak Phan Lens” (“Views of Love”), among them Kemisara “Belle” Paladesh, her brother Kasempong or Best, Kasidej “Kan” Hongladaromp, Kanokchat “Typhoon” Munyad-on, Patcha Poonpiriya and Apasiri Nitibhon.
Phadha Yangyongyuen from “Pom Mah Nah Ter” played the acoustic guitar on “Man Chai Rer”, Hathaichanok “Sai” Suansri from “Mon Rak Song Fang Khlong” sang a couple of upbeat luk thung numbers while performers from “Thida Pha Sin” dressed in traditional Thai costume for a fashion show. Fonpa Pramoj Na Ayudhaya from “Mor Phi” sang “Mai Dai Yin” with Pokchat Tiemchai, Pharanyu Rojanawuthitham, Jason Young, Phitchanat Sakhakon and Wasu Sangsingkaew, and Saranyu “Ice” Winaipanit covered a number from “Bua Lang Nam” with Metal Sukkhao, Atthama Chiwanitchaphan, Sukonthawa Koetnimit, Jessica Pasaphan and Nattarin Suwannaler,
