Red-hot Peangtarn Plipuech needed just 68 minutes to topple Belgian teenager Minnen Greet 6-4 6-0 to lift up her first ITF US$25,000 trophy after the final of the Sekisho Challenge Open in Tsukuba, Japan on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Peangtarn, an Asian Games and Fed Cup national player, relied on her all court game to tame the 289th ranked opponent for her biggest career singles title.

"I'm so happy to win this title as it's my first time winning a singles in a US$25,000 tournamnet. In the past I only won in the doubles," said Peangtarn.

"Today I was so determined to give it a fight. I knew I had to run down all shots and returned everything back," added Peangtarn who will return home for a week before playing her next event in China.

Peangtarn is the first Thai player to win a US$25,000 ITF event this year. The other Thai who won an ITF singles title in 2016 was Noppawan Lertcheewakarn following her victory in a US$10,000 event in Egypt earlier this season.

The crown in Tsukuba is Peangtarn's fourth ITF singles title. She has won three US$10,000 events in Manila, Bangkok and New Delhi in 2011, 2013 and 2014 respectively.
