LOCAL FIRM Thai Habel Industrial does the country proud with the Altron LTV 4001, a new top-quality, 40-inch LED TV with a built-in terrestrial digital TV tuner, and it’s also easy to set up.
Thai Habel might not be as familiar a name as other home-grown brands, but it’s been around since 1987, making both its own line of electrical appliances and OEM products for other companies. It’s got the ISO 9001L 2008 accreditation to prove its merits for industrial standards, and is an exporter to boot.
The LTV 4001 is the latest in the Altron Indigo series, Full HD at 1920x1080-pixel resolution and mounted on a nice-looking stand. The TV chassis has a smooth material finish and the display is high gloss.
The sound is great thanks to Dolby Digital Plus and SRS Truesurround XT. Personal Video Recording (PVR) lets you record up to six hours of your favourite shows.
There’s a USB port for a USB flash drive from which you can play movies and music, and you can plug in your mobile phone to view photos and videos using an MHL HDMI connection.
A real energy-saver, the LTV 4001 earned the Energy Label 5 from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
Connecting the TV to its stand is easy, and a simple user interface also makes it easy to adjust the DVB-T2 digital TV tuner to pull in all the terrestrial digital TV channels. Once you’re hooked up to an outdoor antenna, the channels come in sharp and clear, especially the HD channels like Thairath TV, of course.
I connected to a True Visions HD digital receiver and was really impressed by the picture quality. |The HD channels like HBO HD, |Fox Movie Premium and ANX HD looked gorgeous and the sound was terrific.
Carrying a three-year warranty, the Altron LTV 4001 sells for Bt10,990 at most branches of |Tesco Lotus, Power Mall Bang Kapi and Thaphra, as well as at Lazada.co.th.
