Letter was just bunkum

Letter was just bunkum

Re: “Media conspiracy theories and UFO abductions”, Letters, Dec 2.

KP Jensen, much in the manner of his apparent alter-ego JC Wilcox, has, to start with, no idea that there’s a clear connection between the words ‘conspiracy’ and ‘theory’. That puts his thesis, such as it is, firmly in the bowels of eccentricity where it so firmly belongs, alongside all the other hysterical outbursts fantasised by people in dark rooms, who see sinister plots everywhere.
Had he earned a PhD, he might realise that.
There’s lots of this drivel on YouTube, for example; type search terms like ‘alien conspiracies’ ‘secret media agendas’, ‘illuminati’, ‘the Queen of England is a 12 foot lizard’, and so on – it’s good for a laugh if nothing else, and makes the irrational out there feel good about themselves.
Moreover, there’s more than just a touch of the David Icke in Jensen’s rambling tosh, that much is evident.
We’ve heard all this tiresome bunkum before, and the well-adjusted amongst us give it a wide berth.
Therefore, a series of randomly selected non-sequiturs do not a coherent letter to The Nation make.
Dr Frank
