Hot shot Daniel Altmaier of Germany reached his sixth ITF final of the season after he move past the exhausted Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan 7-5 6-0 to reach the final of the US$10,000 ITF Thailand Men’s Futures 5 at the True Arena Hua Hin.

The 18-year-old from Kemper staved off two set points at 4-5 and reeled off three games in a row to take the 52 minute first before the Kazakh qualifier started losing steam.

Yevseyev, who played six straight matches on his way to the semi-final from the qualification, barely threatened the German teenager as he was a step slower and hardly kept the ball in play. Although the Kazakh put up some fight at 0-4 in the second set but the German finally held serves and broke the next game easily to finish the deal.

Daniel is now in his sixth Men’s Futures final, three of which was won by him. His third and latest title came in Qatar earlier this month.

The world No 405 will face South Korean second seeded Kwon Soon Woo,  who beat countryman Lee Jea Moon 6-3 6-4, in the Saturday’s final. The 19-year-old Kwon has won two ITF titles this year in Japan and South Korea.
