Everyone’s a winner

Prominent movie magazine “Bioscope” will hold a special screening of five films nominated for its awards this Saturday (March 11) at the Bangkok Screening Room on Soi Saladaeng 1.

The screenings kick off at 11am with the ThaiMyanmar production “Tueng Khon..Mai Kid Tueng” (“From Bangkok to Mandalay”). “Mahasamut Lae Susan” (“The Island Funeral”) follows at 1.30pm, “Khwam Sao Khong Phoot Phee” (“Insurgency by a Tapir”) at 3.45pm, the Subhanahongsa award winner “Dao Khanong” (“By The Time It Gets Dark”) at 6pm and the recently rediscovered and restored production "SantiVina" at 8.15.
“Insurgency” is an experimental project based on a short story by Danarun Saengthong titled “The Melancholy of the Spirit” and is a collaboration between the award-winning writer and short filmmakers that revolts against the “obsolescence of literary filmic convention”. The filmmakers are Wachara Kanha, Chulayarnnon Siripho, Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke and Chaloemkiat Saeyong
Unlike other film awards, the Bioscope awards consider movies and Thai series that are available to the public through several channels including conventional cinema, the community and online.
Tickets cost Bt300, Bt250 and Bt200 (children). They can be booked at https://bkksr.com/th/movies/bioscopeawards2016.
