Singto bares it all
Singer and songwriter Singto Numchok has done the unexpected for “R U OK (Ched)”, his third single from his third outing, “Just Have Fun with It” on What The Duck label – he raps and goes bare-chested for the MV.
“As the album title implies, no matter what’s happening in your life, you should have fun with it. And I decided to do just that,” says Singto.
“I like listening to rap so I wanted my song to have rap in it with the support of Phi Tum (Sathapat Teeranitayapap of Monotone) and Joey Boy. It’s great to be working with Joey Boy again.
“The lyrics are about a former lover who looks unhappy and cries a lot even while living with her new man. I’ve put a lot into the song, not least because it is the first time I am acting. During the music video, I act realistically and even bleed a bit.”
In addition to his rapping, Singto, a married father of three, has caused ripples among his fans by revealing his chest in the music video.
“I’m surprised and pleased that fans like this music video and have shared it a lot. My thanks go to everyone for supporting me. If I’d have known that fans liked me taking off my shirt, I would have done it before,” says the 34-year-old with a laugh.
“I read a lot of comments that I look like an actor. At first, I intended to put on an undershirt but the production team wanted me to bare my chest. I felt rather shy during the shooting but I had to follow what the photographer was telling me. Fortunately my body is fit and firm, because I take care of my health and have exercised for a few years.”
