Hua Hin nightmare: the noisy ‘party’ neighbours

SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 2017

In regard to the April 26 article titled “Paradise lost – Hua Hin peace shattered by ‘party houses’”, it is a pity that the Hua Hin thessaban have been setting tough rules on chair vendors, peddlers, kite-surfers and others, but when it comes to noise it turns (pardon the pun) a deaf ear.

I live in a condo and I have been occasionally disturbed by a “party condo” but a friend who lives in a housing estate is surrounded by three “party houses”.
The agents and owners, play the “We are sorry”, game, but as long as the law does not step in, nothing will change.
The local police couldn’t be bothered; they may come around if you insist, but as soon as they leave the noise resumes unabated.
This practice is clearly against the law on several points: renting premises on a daily basis without a hotel licence, and disturbing the peace.
Since this is becoming a trend, I urge, in the interest of the good reputation of Hua Hin, that the powers-that-be end this nightmare for neighbour residents as soon as possible.
