Chen claims 23rd ITF title in Hua Hin

Taiwanese top seed Chen Ti won his 23rd ITF title by coming back from a second set deficit to beat Australian Dayne Kelly 6-3 4-6 6-4 in the final of the US$15,000 Cal Comp & XYZ Printing ITF Pro Circuit M2 at the True Arena in Hua Hin on Saturday.

The 267th ranked Chen stamped his authority over the Australian young rival whom he also beat for an ITF title in Thailand back in 2014.  It was the fourth title won by Chen in 2017 after he made a hat-trick in Indonesia earlier.

In the doubles final India’s Karunuday Singh and Kazakh Denis Yevseyev upset third seed Yannick Jankovits of France and Evan Song of the US 6-1 6-1.

Chen and Kelly will enter the third week of the Men’s ITF in Hua Hin as the top two seeds. Thailand will be represented by national Davis Cup player Jirat Navasirisomboon and two former national players Kittipong Wachiramanowong and Pol Wattanakul in the maindraw.
