People complain when I call Thomas Turk a “clown”, but why is there no protest when this vicious man continues to slander the entire medical establishment by accusing them of deliberately wanting people to get heart disease and cancer so they can make money treating them? If that’s true, why doesn’t the medical establishment tell people to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, which would no doubt lead to more heart disease and cancer? Or why did they publish Dr Dean Ornish’s studies, which show that through a low-fat vegetarian diet, exercise and meditation you can reverse heart disease?
If we are to assume that every medical organisation and journal is corrupt (and of course the meat industry has no profit motive!) then what do we have to base our opinions on? Thomas Turk’s letters?
On the extremely rare occasions when he can find an article in a medical journal which agrees with him he then quotes from it. But you can’t have it both ways!
In his last letter he kept writing “we know”. Who is this “we”? Certainly not the majority of medical doctors who he has already discredited. We’re just suppose to believe something is true because he says it is.
Finally I’d like to ask Turk how much money does he make from his “fitness” programmes. Does he have a horse in this race?
