You have to be on your toes for history

The problem is not that academic research leads to Alzheimer’s, but his own pomposity in claiming that his study of the Rothchilds, Goebbels et al somehow qualifies him to make infallible judgements about whatever tickles his fancy.
As regards historical insight, my grandmother once attended an hour-long lecture entitled “World History from Plato to Nato”. Asked whether she enjoyed it, she replied that, unfortunately, she had coughed and missed the French Revolution.
