The two chefs will jointly produce a special 9-course dinner priced at Bt5,750-plus including wine pairings at Bunker restaurant on Bangkok’s Sathorn Soi 12 from 7 to 11.30pm.
Their dishes are inspired by their favourite after-work hangout spots in New York. The menu will include Eagle Rock oyster from Washington State; yellowtail crudo, raw fish served with a dash of Osetra caviar; one of the finest of all steak brands, Ohmi Wagyu, prepared seared tataki-style; veal stuffed into pasta pockets, agnolotti-style, and served with Parmesan cheese; mackerel char-cooked to a recipe created by the famous New York Kenka Japanese restaurant; abalone grilled and served with congee, Chinese sausage and ginger; New York strip loin served with baked truffle potato; and a black truffle ice cream.
Butler is co-owner and executive chef at Eat Me, listed every year since 2013 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rating, and with a highly international menu that is influenced by Asian, and especially Japanese, tastes and styles. Marcella is executive chef at Bunker, which opened in 2016 and has a menu that is neo American and influenced by the Mediterranean and parts of Asia, especially Japan.
