Thai women beat Myanmar while men draw with Indonesia

Thailand’s campaign in the football SEA Games started in different styles as the men’s team drew a 1-1 with Indonesia while the women’s side rallied back from 0-1 in the first half to beat Myanmar 3-2 in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

Playing their first Pool B preliminary round at the Shah Alam Stadium, defending champion Thai men scored the first goal in the 14th minute by Chaiyawat Buran before Septian David Maulana found the equalizer from Indonesia with his penalty kick.

In the women’s actions, a late goal from Orathai Srimanee led the Kingdom’s squad to a 3-2 win over Myanmar in the five-nation round-robin format competition at the UM Arena

The men’s team will next play Leste Timor on Thursday while the women will take on host Malaysia on August 20.
