Ratchanok storms into last eight in Fuzhou

Ratchanok Intanon needed just 29 minutes to beat Lee Chia Hsin of Taiwan 21-12 21-8 to storm into the quarter-finals of the Tahoe China Open Super Series Premier in Fuzhou on Thursday.

The world No 6 who has three titles under her belt this season had also beaten a Taiwanese rival (Su Yu Chen 21-10 21-14) in the first round.

The Kingdom’s No 1 player will take on either world No 1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan or Line Kjaersfeldt of Denmark in the quarter-finals on Friday.

In the men's singles second round, Thai No 1 Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk went down to Chinese fourth seed Shi Yuqi 14-21 21-19 18-21 

In women’s doubles, Chayanit Chaladchalam and Phataimas Muenwong lost to  on Du Yue and Li Yinhui of China 16-21 16-21.
