Why this Jew turned against Zionism
Please allow me to respond to Andy Leitner’s malicious attacks against me.
It’s outrageous for him to claim that I only condemn Israel’s atrocities. Few people have written more letters condemning the atrocities against the Rohingya than me. I have also written letters condemning female circumcision, which is prevalent in some Muslim countries. And I have called the Islamic State “demented”.
But I have a particular hatred for Israel. Because of support from the US, Israel gets away with every atrocity it commits. While virtually everyone condemns the atrocities committed in Myanmar, many people are afraid to condemn Israel’s atrocities because they don’t want to be slandered by the Zionists. So I’m trying to compensate for all the cowards who are willing to let Israel get away with everything.
Finally he claims I’ve never been to Israel. I was in Israel many years ago and I’ll never forget our Israeli tour guide on the bus saying, “We’re out of the Arab section now and that’s why it no longer smells.” And I remember the American Jews on the tour were disrespectful to the Palestinians. That was the beginning of my conversion from the Israeli cause to the Palestinian cause.
