How to tell when animal-haters have lost the debate
On Sunday I noted in response to Simon Ordsall’s letter that it’s an old tactic of animal haters to claim to be vegetarians and then proceed to smear animal rights activists. The message is, “If even vegetarians hate the vegetarian movement then it must be bad.”
Then two days later animal-hater Noah Zarke tries another old tactic by suggesting that he might have become a vegetarian if not for the fact he doesn’t like people telling him what he should eat. Here the message is, “The best way to promote vegetarianism is to not promote vegetarianism.” The absurdity is obvious.
Neither writer even attempts to dispute the arguments for animal rights, because they can’t. So instead they attack the animal rights activists themselves. And that, dear readers, is the oldest tactic of them all.
