Tul Waitoonkait of Apartment Khunpa, Poomjit’s drummer Asanai “Max” Artskool and The Superglasses Ska Ensemble served as masters of ceremonies and announced the first show by Clockwork Motionless, an alternative rock trio featuring Eakkachai Pratangthasa on vocals, Therdthai Thongtho on bass and Siriyott Ruangtangyan on drums.
“It is very important to give people a chance. These days, many indie artists promote their musical works through their own online channels. But, we – GMM Grammy and Sanamluang Music – have channels and other elements that are more effective and can help disseminate their musical works,” said Phawit Chitrakorn, chief executive of GMM Music.
“Sanamluang Music is determined to recruit indie artists and bands to join our artist model, which consists of three strategies: ‘Sanam Ploy Khong’, ‘Sanam Show Khong’ and ‘Sanam Long Khong’. Through these, the artists will see their songs climbing the charts, being picked as soundtracks of TV programmes and TV series, and getting lots of views on YouTube,” he added.
Jiraporn “Apple” Sumanasiri, label director of Sanamluang Music, was equally encouraging.
“Sanamluang Music is a stage where indie artists have freedom to create their musical works whether they favour pop, rock, jazz, funk, punk, ska, hip-hop and metal,” Jirapon explaned.
The event also featured performances by Blues Tape of “Geisha” and “Blue Jeans”, by P.O.N.R with a medley of “Ja Woob”, “It’s a Trap”, “Love in The Club” and “Point of No Return”, and Last Fight For Finish with “Khode Kao”, “Ai Ha Aoey” and “Sunny Day”,
