The series was also named among the top 10 in 63 countries worldwide, including Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Poland, Romania, and Malaysia.
The director of the series, Sivaroj Kongsakul, said on his Facebook post on Wednesday that this achievement belongs to Thai people. He also thanked his teammates, actors and audiences for supporting his series.
“This is the first Thai series that achieved the world’s highest ranking in the [non-English series] category,” he said.
According to Netflix, “Master of the House” takes place when a family enters a power struggle following the death of their patriarch, who leaves behind his diamond empire — and the housekeeper he recently married.
The series stars Teerapong “Bee” Leowrakwong, Charttayodom “Chai” Hiranyasthiti, Thanavate “Gap” Siriwattanagul, Narilya “Yada” Gulmongkolpech and Nusba “Nus” Punnakanta. It has been available on Netflix since July 18 this year.
