Noppawan flies into 2nd round

Noppawan Lertcheewakarn rocketed into the second round of the US$220,000 Guangzhou International Women's Open yesterday with a 7-5 6-0 win over China's Zheng Sai-sai.
The Thai No 2 was briefly tested by the underdog before taking charge with her double-handed ground strokes to close the deal in one hour and 51 minutes.
Noppawan will next play the winner of the match between sixth seeded Alberta Brianti of Italy and Zheng Jie.
In Seoul, Tamarine Tanasugarn will today open her campaign against a qualifier in the US$220,000 Hansol Korea Open.
