Buy a coffin, not a car

Re:

I thought I’d heard everything until I read Meechai Burapa’s prescription for action in view of the coming end of the world. Since the Mayas predicted that the world will end in December 2012, Khun Meechai suggests that we should all go out and buy a new car.
May I remind Meechai that we will have use of that shiny new car for only about 15 short months before the world ends. Also, the car is bound to depreciate in value as the dread day approaches. What person in his right mind would invest in a car that will lose value so quickly?
I don’t believe any of this nonsense about the world ending next year. We all know that when the Mayans weren’t sacrificing virgins, they were smoking peyote. We’re supposed to believe these wackos? But if I did believe them, I sure wouldn’t waste my money on a new car. I’d invest it in a posh coffin made of the finest teakwood, with solid gold trim and lined with pink silk padding, so that I can go out in style.
