Back off from lese majeste overkill

Army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha is acting like a paranoid person, seeing anti-royalists under every stone, calling for the public to help the military defend the monarchy against efforts to undermine the institution.

He acts as if he did not know that virtually all Thais dearly love our king.
Yet, he himself admits that the monarchy would eventually be affected from enforcement of the relevant legal provisions.
He added that His Majesty the King in fact did not want offenders of the lese-majeste law to be punished.
Isn’t it about time that General Prayuth listened to His Majesty, did an about-face, and stopped harming the monarchy by over-zealous efforts to enforce the lese-majeste law, as the government did in the “Uncle SMS” case?
Instead of suggesting a social boycott of lese-majeste law offenders, General Prayuth should organise a social boycott of his brother generals who are responsible for the Krue Se and Tak Bai atrocities, thus punishing them when no one dares apply the rule of law.
