James Dundass brings out a very good point. There are those who are deserving and those who are not. Since the “red guard” are part of the government, they are deserving. The Thai-Malay people, who are Islamic, do not deserve compensation. Neither do the thousands of people murdered in the drug crackdown deserve compensation. The police determined that they were guilty, and saved time and money by executing them. The residents of Bangkok do not deserve compensation because the red guard was looking afrer them.
