Dear Khun Lung Kip: My letter, “Do good, but don’t gloat”, January 24, was in no way a reply to your letter of any previous day. It must be a pure coincidence.
Your letters show you are a highly learned man, but are always long and too complicated for a layman like me to follow. Since your letter yesterday was [meant to be] a direct response to mine, I perused it and felt like I was a tennis ball being hit back and forth across the net. Pow! Kim Jong-il! Wham! The Red Guards. Bang! The Cultural Revolution in China. My opinion is simply that Thaksin is like a guy whose house was robbed while he was away, and he tries to get his possessions back.
And by the way, how do you know that Kim Jong-il was such a monster? Did you meet and talk to him? Or did you learn about him from the Western media? Judge not, for ye shall be judged.
