The remaining 10 per cent requires more rehabilitation, he said on Channel 3’s “Tee Sib” on Tuesday, his first TV appearance since the authorities vowed to chuck him in jail.
Although Sek said his memory remains faulty, he looked healthier, was penitent and promised to start anew for his fans as a genuine “idol”. He wrote several songs while undergoing treatment and performed one of them, titled “Yer” (“Too Much”) on the show.
Sek’s ex-wife Karn was beside him to confirm they’re talking about reuniting. “I think it’s time for me to grow up,” Sek said. “I’m the root cause of this problem and I’ll have to fight my way out.”
He was so open about answering every question that many fans later said online they too are ready to forgive him and take him back.
Prayer heard
The New Year’s Eve wedding of actress Siriyakorn “Oom” pukkavesa and Briton Christopher G Markwart went almost unnoticed, but that’s exactly what she had in mind. Most people have just found out about it from the latest issue of Hello! magazine.
The ceremony at the Jim Thompson House wasn’t jammed with celebrities, although JSL boss Lawan Kanchart, National Artist Pisamai Vilaisak and TV producer Mayurachat Muenprasithivej were on hand to see Oom marry the man she met at a meditation retreat in Khon Kaen three years ago.
Markwart was the only farang among the Thais seeking nirvana, so he must have stuck out for Oom, who’d prayed in advance that she’d “meet someone who shares the same goal”. Both are Buddhists and vegetarians.
Once securely in love, they enjoyed a trip to Burma, where Markwart bought a jade ring from the roadside vendor and then, while visiting the lovely Shwedagon Pagoda, asked her to marry him.
Seems like they found their nirvana. “And,” adds Siriyakorn, “he’s a weirdo like me!”
