Blind to the real issues

Below are some things that news media missed, thus letting us down in recent years:

Saddam Hussein held incommunicado (silenced) in Iraq before his execution, even though he offered to tell EU ambassadors the details of secret deals between himself and other countries; US intentions to unilaterally pull out of ABM treaties, resulting in the entire nuclear weapons treaty system falling apart; drone bombing of alleged terrorists in Pakistan that even the US administration admits might be illegal; Nato far exceeding the parameters of the UN Security Council resolution that allowed for a no-fly zone in Libya, and how that could ultimately destroy the entire Security Council process; the facts that US politicians and the US administration have in effect been helping the Communist Party in Russia through attacks on Vladimir Putin, and that US presidents have won office with less than 48 per cent of the popular vote on average since 1960; Israel (and what a con job that has been); Saudi Arabia and how Saudi money virtually controls some advanced countries’ economies; the growing problem of some populations, especially in the EU, who honestly believe they can live forever on money borrowed from other countries without paying it back – a truly burgeoning, disastrous trend at the grassroots level; the likewise growing trend everywhere to turn national politics into another consumer product to be packaged, marketed and sold like burgers and fries.
If we can see all of that, then why cannot the news media?
