Kudos for speaking up on BOT independence

Re: "Central bank's board chief is 'causing confusion'", August 16.

Tarisa Watanagase, the former central bank governor, deserves a gold medal for being so candid and clear-minded in lambasting the current chairman of the bank’s board. This is not because of her flow of logic and observation, but because of her courage in coming out to be counted as being against that individual. No ex-governor or any retiree would ever bother to defend daily attacks on the Bank of Thailand’s independence.
Madame, my hat is off to you for diverting from your favourite Thai music to speak out against this despicable behaviour by one individual! As Plato said, “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”
