Save money - and space - with DocuPrint

Fuji comes up with a compact, efficient game changer for Xerox printing

Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P255 dw S-LED (Self-Scanning Light Emitting Diode) is a monochrome printer which could help a small office save money on printing.
Best of all DocuPrint P255 dw is a compact printer, so it could also save space, and it supports either wired and wireless networking. It could be easily added to your home office’s network with the provided LAN port or a built-in wireless adapter.
It uses an LED print head instead of laser-emitting technology, so it could save a lot of energy.
The printer features sharp printing at the resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dots per inch.
It supports automatic duplex printing, drawing back a printed page to print on the other side automatically. It also allows you to print multiple pages on a single sheet of paper to save paper consumption.
The printer has two means of paper input – from the main paper tray at the bottom and via the Priority Sheet Inserter (PSI), which is located above the main paper tray. The main tray can hold up to 250 sheets of paper, while the PSI or multipurpose tray can hold 10 sheets of plain paper.
It can be connected to a desktop computer using USB 2.0 port, a 10/100 Base-TX LAN port or Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g connection.
The P255 dw is compatible to PCL6, PCL5e, PostScript 3 print language. It has 128 MB of memory for buffering printed files and its operation is fast, handled by a 295 MHz processor.
I tested the printer by connecting it to my home wireless router. The connection had to be done using the printer’s operator panel, which has small LCD screen, a menu button, OK button and four-direction arrow keys.
The printer had no problem detecting my wireless router. It required using the up and down arrow keys to cycle through letters, numbers and other characters to input the wireless password. The left-and-right arrow keys were used for changing the position of the password’s characters. So it could be inconvenient to input the wireless password for the first wireless connection.
Fuji Xerox rates DocuPrint P255 dw of capable of printing up to 30 pages per minute and taking only 7 seconds or less to receive print data for starting the first page.
But I think the rating is based on the high-speed USB 2 connection. During the test on a wireless connection, I found that it took about 28 seconds for sending data to the printer before it started printing the first page and it took about 22 seconds for printing 10 pages using the option of high resolution graphics.
Printing one full-page greyscale photo at the highest resolution and fine printing resolution option took about one minute to receive data and four seconds in printing the page after the data was received by the printer.
The DocuPrint P255 dw could help you save on ink toner cartridges. The cartridge that comes with the package can print about 1,000 pages, while a standard cartridge that sells separately can print about 2,500 pages.
DocuPrint P255 dw also uses toner that allows the printer to save energy. It uses EA-Econ toner that uses less temperature by conventional toner by about 20 to 50 Celsius degrees for fusing. The toner is made of the combination of fast and slow fusing polyesters, allowing the fusing to save energy while retaining high quality printing. Moreover, it does not use oil but wax for fusing so the toner supports glossy mode printing.
Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P255 dw retails for Bt8,100, VAT excluded.
