Palmy and So Cool lead the nominations in this year's You2Play Awards
Round-the-clock online music channel You2Play continues to prove its worth to music lovers countrywide, as fans rush to vote for their favourite artists in the You2Play Awards 2013. There are 10 categories for which to vote and the radio reports that votes are pouring in at a rate of 80,000 clicks a day.
“The You2Play Awards are now in their third year and are accepted as bona fide awards for real artists,” says managing director Noppadon Jason Chirasanti. “This year, the concept is ‘Rock the Vote!’ and everybody seems very excited by the music show atmosphere and creative thinking of the new generation. I think it will be our best one yet.”
Thai-Belgian pop singer Palmy is out on top, with the nod for Favourite Female Artist category for “Ka Ka Ka” as well as Favourite Thai Music Video for “Narika Ruean Kao”, both cuts from her latest album “Palmy 5”. Phitsanulok rockers So Cool are nominated for Favourite Duo/Group Artist as well as Favourite Thai Music Video for “Sing Mee Cheewit Thi Khid Dai Lae Jeb Pen”, a new song from “Social”.
In the two categories of Asian artists, Girls’ Generation and Super Junior dominate the nominations for Favourite Asian Artist and Favourite Asian Music Video with “Twinkle” and “Sexy, Free & Single” consecutively. However, Psy is also earning points for Favourite Asian Music Video with “Gangnam Style”.
This year’s award presentation ceremony will surprise fans as it features a show by Japanese duo, Shintaro Mizumo and Sebastiano Serefini who will be in Thailand to promote their album, “Sevastrophy” released on Avex Entertainment.
The duo will meet and greet fans in a special session. To get a ticket, visit Facebook/You2PlayTV.
