'Star' isn't artificial light, Boy insists

It was an irritated Takonkiat “Boy” Viravan who faced the press on Saturday night over an allegation that he manipulates the voting on Modernine’s talent show “The Star”, which his Xact Co produces.
The former contestant’s vote-rigging claim caused huge ripples on the social media after Isra News Agency reported it last week without naming the source. Boy said it’s nonsense, and that his dignity remains intact, as does the reputation of “The Star” after nine seasons.
“You guys accuse me of [manipulating the votes] and that demeans my team,” he fumed. “It’s also an insult to the entertainment industry.” And anyway, if he really wanted a particular newcomer to become famous, he had better ways to make it happen.
Boy pointed out that the voting results are displayed transparently enough in a summarised graph. “You never see the raw votes anywhere! Go and ask any researcher around the globe.”
“The Star” has had many contestants who fell short of success, he pointed out. “No one can dictate that. And sometimes even winning doesn’t guarantee success.”

Bowing for bliss
Appearing on the station’s “Tee Tai Krau” show, Channel 3 hostess Meesuk “Kai” Changmeesuk revealed the secret of her happy marriage – she prostrates herself in front of her husband every day.
Kai said she daily performs the krab, adhering to a practice that dates back to the Lord Buddha’s time. “My routine is to krab before he goes to bed. I also have to wake up earlier, since the Buddha taught that a wife must rise before a husband and go to bed after he does,” she said.
The fact is that Kai and her husband Phongsakorn “Kim” Kuldilongchaipat, who only married at the beginning of this year, met at a temple and devoutly observe dharma teaching.
Kim was sitting right there next to her on the show, so he was asked how he felt about all this. He said it reminds him that he has to do good to deserve her respect.
