Last week the Tower Club at Bangkok hotel lebua launched an array of European Red Bull cocktails with a sumptuous dinner and a jaw-dropping performance by the B-Boy crew Flying Steps for Germany at the stunning Sirocco, the world’s highest al-fresco restaurant overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
“We’re delighted to collaborate with European Red Bull to host the Flying Steps and offer our guests an exceptional performance,” said Deepak Ohri, chief executive of lebua Hotels and Resorts. “The mixologists of lebua and European Red Bull have dedicated themselves to create unique cocktails exclusive to the Dome.
“The evening also allows us to highlight the new creative menus of Sirocco’s Mediterranean cuisine, which offers the delicacy of a world-class fine-dining experience.”
As the guests were waiting to enjoy the show, they were enticed by Mediterranean chef Clement Pellerin’s new tasting menu, which included Andaluz gazpacho, black morels, Chilean seabass, Wagyu beef sirloin and choco pop dessert.
The food tasted even better with the five Red Bull cocktails introduced that night. Ronald Rueda Ramirez, lebua’s talented mixologist, worked closely with his Red Bull counterpart to create both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.
If you like a dash of smoky whisky in your cocktail, you’ll like Velocity – a mix of Chivas Regal 18 Years Old, dried orange peel, fresh mint, orange-blossom syrup and Red Bull. Sweet, sour with lingering fragrances of orange and mint, this refreshing, cooling cocktail is perfect on a hot day.
If you like it fruity, sweet and luxurious, opt for a Gold Rush, which is a mixture of lychee liqueur, honey, gin, gold flakes and Red Bull.
Vodka lover will be blown away with Jumping Jack. This tangy and refreshing drink has the super-premium Absolut 100 infused with jack fruit and cinnamon as base, topped with limoncello and Red Bull, and served with sprinkle of gold flakes.
Last on the menu was Royal Bull, an absolutely luxurious concoction of Martell Cordon Bleu Cognac, Creme de Cassis, Blue Curacao, Red Bull and candy floss. If you’re a sweet-toothed, you’ll dig this one.
If you intend to skip alcohol, there’s the Unleaded mocktail, a fruity mix of ginger, mint leaves, sugar syrup and Red Bull.
Then it was showtime! Dramatic music sounded as the Flying Steps took centre stage, dancing away with great agility, precision and synchronicity. The B-Boy crew was formed in 1993 by Kadir Memis (also know by his stage name Amigo) and Vartan Bassil in Berlin. The crew has nine male members and specialises in break dance, popping and pocking. They were world champions several times at the international Battle of the Year and the Red Bull Beat Battle.
The crew also includes hip-hop and house dance in its performances.
