The name of this country will have no meaning

The government, in invoking the Internal Security Act prior to the House debate on its controversial reconciliation bill, shows it is not acting in a democratic fashion.

This bill, if passed by Parliament, will bring on the greatest division in the country because it aims at eventually helping only one person – former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra – to bypass the laws. The result: the country’s law and order will become meaningless; only outlaws will rule.
And by using the ISA as a tool to suppress opposing voices, the government is turning the country gradually into one-man rule. The result: Thailand as the “land of the free” will become irrelevant. Eventually this name will have to be changed.
