Help Big C do good

Big C Supercenter is celebrating its 20th anniversary by collaborating with the Interior Ministry's Department of Provincial Administration on the campaign "We Are Here for Good".

People can vote for the 10 best community-development projects short-listed from more than 130 proposals on Big C’s Facebook page.
The department, Big C and actress Khemanit “Pancake” Jamikorn, the campaign’s ambassador, have rated the projects themselves and now want the public’s opinions. The five top-scoring projects on this list will be funded and implemented:
- Community Learning Centre in Chumphon
- Blue Crab Habitat on Koh Phangan
- Peacock Sanctuary in Lamphun
- Sensory Integration Room for the disabled in Nakhon Sawan
- Clean drinking water for kids in Chiang Mai
- Thai-Laos tourist rest area in Mukdahan
- Community Health Park in Nonthaburi
- Boat commuter rest area in Pathum Thani
- Community Kitchen for the Klong Toey Slum Foundation in Bangkok
- Bus-stop renovation in Bangkok
“Voting continues until August 15,” says Kudatara Nagaviroj, director of Big C’s corporate affairs. “We want people to vote for their favourite proposals via the ‘bigcsupercenter’ page on Facebook. The five top projects will be announced on August 16.”
“This campaign has taught me more about the basic needs and issues facing local communities and has truly expanded my horizon,” Pancake says. “Many of the proposals are amazingly interesting. I think they’re very valuable in bringing sustainable development to local communities in the areas of people, natural resources and environment conservation.”
Voters have a chance to be among the 50 people chosen by lucky draw to travel with Pancake to the project sites, and another 200 will receive Big C shopping vouchers worth Bt200.
