At 60, he’s going to marry his fiancee, Wantanee Surapaithoonkorn, tomorrow. Fah got engaged to the associate professor at Chulalongkorn University’s Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration in March.
On hand for the wedding will be the gang from film studio GTH, where Fah’s younger brother Visute is the chief executive. The reception’s emcees will be actor Chantavit “Ter” Dhanasevi and actress-TV host Panisara “Opal” Phimpru.
Opal will likely be taking notes. She’s just revealed that her boyfriend, celebrity doctor Smith “Oak” Arayasakul, proposed to her during their recent trip in Japan. She said yes, but they haven’t settled on a date yet. “We’re waiting for a revered monk to select an auspicious day, but I hope it will be the middle of next year. It’d be too much of a rush at the beginning of the year.”
Any date would be fine, though – as long as she has enough time to get the invitations out. And at the reception she wants to keep things quick and simple. “I don’t want our guests standing for too long” for the formal dedication, she says, “because I’ve been through that myself, so my wedding will be concise!” The main thing will be good food – and plenty of it.
Whan cuts it fine
We’ve noted before how Pawarisa “Whan” Penchart, who hosts TV’s “Wow … Whan Whan” show, has undergone so much plastic surgery that she’s an acknowledged expert on it, organising jaunts to the cheap and efficient clinics in Seoul. Despite having only one nose, Whan has had two nose jobs, among many other procedures.
Her latest project is called “Khun Noo Neramit”, in which lucky folks will be chosen for a televised makeover from October to December. The hardest part is screening the applicants. “There are so many people applying!” she gulped on Modernine’s “Chao Doo Woody” morning show. “Some write very touching letters that make me cry.”
Whan needs to pick 40 noses, so to speak, and any other body parts that might benefit from a bit of knifing and stitching in South Korea. “But I want to emphasise that a genuine makeover involves changing your behaviour, your manners, not just your appearance,” she said.
Is Whan booked for more tucks and lifts? “Well, many people say I’ve done enough and they discourage me from doing any more,” Whan told the show’s host, Woody Militanchinda. In fact he’s one of the people saying she’s plenty beautiful already and should give the poor surgeons a rest. Plus, Woody giggled, “I’ll have a hard time recognising her if she keeps changing her look!”
