As the Philippines disaster enters its second week, I note the absence among relief efforts of the Vatican's private Boeing 747. One might assume it would be flying round the clock with food, water, tents and medical supplies. So far, not a sign. Yet the
The Philippines could almost be termed a colony of the Vatican, with most of the population bowing to the edicts of Rome. And that includes the ban on birth control. (Many of the survivors interviewed said they come from families of seven or more children!) The Church merely responds with a “God will provide”.
Maybe the Vatican’s representative in Southeast Asia would like to comment?
