Leaders can't escape responsibility for their followers' actions

Re: "Anti-Yingluck hysteria versus Prayut's 'respect'", Letters, February 17.

Robin Grant displayed his bias when he came out to deny that former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra “oversaw” violence perpetrated by her supporters that killed more than 20 people, including small children, on the streets of Bangkok.
National leaders cannot escape responsibility for the deaths of innocent citizens under their charge as a result of violence ordered or instigated by people close to them.
And if a close relation of a leader ordered such violence from abroad, then the leader cannot deny liability for the deaths that result, even if a guilty verdict has never been reached.
