Andrew MacGregor Marshall, a former Reuters reporter and the author of the book "A Kingdom in Crisis", made a fool of himself when he tweeted a picture of Thai students practising the traditional Benjangkapradit prostration to the Buddha and captioned it
This was not the first time Marshall has told lies about Thailand.
In a June 23, 2011, commentary published by the UK’s Independent newspaper, Marshall wrote of his first encounter with Thailand after arriving in 2000: “I quickly fell in love with the luminous beauty of Thai culture and the warmth and joie de vivre of the people”.
However, later on, in his eagerness to discredit the country, Marshall fed false information about Thailand, time after time, for the consumption of the outside world.
Apparently, self-aggrandisement is Marshall’s first priority – regardless of the cost to Thailand.
