When we were very young we were told, “When you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.” Yet Eric Bahrt persists in referring to US Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson as an “Uncle Tom”. He maintains that no distinction has been made between “secular Muslims” and those supporting Sharia law. This suggests that a secular Muslim could become president without facing an ideological conflict of interest.
To be “secular”, a Muslim would have to deny the existence of Allah and would thereby renounce his faith. There is no such thing as a secular Muslim. All Muslims are bound by the ideology of Islam, which is inextricably linked to Sharia Law. The Islamic world would expect a Muslim president to worship in a mosque, not a Christian church. Right at the outset he would have to be sworn in with his hand on the Bible rather than the Koran, but this would immediately render him apostate, publicly. Judaeo-Christian democracy is simply not compatible with Islam. Indirectly, Ben Carson made this very point by asserting that any president would have to uphold all that the United States represents.
