Perhaps Economic Minister Somkid thinks that because a business has a digital component, it’s a “future industry”.
Somkid’s thinking is stuck in the black mud of industrialists’ 19th century. If he could think beyond the thickness of his wallet, he would push for projects that tangibly help the environment – alternative energy, clean vehicles, reforestation, biodegradable bags and products, skylights, educational videos and toys for children that focus on environmental husbandry.
We already know Thailand’s judicial system is stuck in archaic ways of thinking (scapegoats, false police testimony and bribes are acceptable), but are Thai business leaders also stuck in dusty old thinking patterns? Will the involvement of younger
generations be any better?
