Porn is the least of problems for Filipinos

Gerard Biagan’s tirade against pornography is typical of Philippine hypocrisy.
This is a country which elected as president a man who brags that he has two wives and two girlfriends, cracks jokes about rape victims, calls Barack Obama’s mother “a whore” and is a mass murderer to boot. It’s also a country where men are encouraged to commit adultery and women ordered to remain virgins until marriage.
I lived in the Philippines and I met women whose husbands left them for other women and would not even give their wives enough money to feed their own children.
Despite all this talk about Filipinos being family-oriented Catholics, they are among the most sexist, women-hating hypocrites on the face of this planet. And pornography doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it!
