Pasteurisation has no effect on calcium absorption

It appears Thomas Turk is somewhat confused. It is true that reduced phosphatase levels in milk are used to confirm pasteurisation is complete.

However, the phosphatase involved in calcium absorption is indigenous to the small-bowel lining. Pasteurisation has no effect on calcium absorption. It simply prevents e-coli, brucellosis, campylobacteria and so on from damaging and killing humans. Perhaps Mr Turk should consult genuine scientific knowledge before publicly posting nonsensical pseudo-science.
