I miss the rude jokes

Once upon a time, people were not offended by everything off-centre.  Social, political and ethnic jokes abounded.  Polish Americans told Polish jokes, Jews told Jewish jokes, etc.

It was a part of the underlying joke of a movie that some white or black guy was made up as an Asian.  Thief of Baghdad (***), Fu Manchu, Dr Lao, etc – as kids we knew the difference.
Asians know their eyes look different, so a great deal of Asian women, including my neighbour, and my daughter-in-law, had their beautiful eyes ‘tucked’ to have a more European appearance.
Incidentally, history shows that the word “genie” is derived from “djin” or “chin” – a word in many languages used to describe Chinese people. Must we now ban all Aladdin references?
