A few straight questions for Thailand’s dog-lovers

Re: “Only one sure cure for a caninophobe”, Have Your Say, yesterday.

Not surprisingly, “Ye Olde Dog Lover” misses the point while trotting out the usual doggist rubbish regarding his beloved vermin.
Cue whiny voice: “It’s not the dog’s fault, it’s the owner’s. Dogs are adorable creatures.”
A dog’s behaviour “can be corrected through proper training by loving owners”.
The point is, the dogs are NOT trained!
The point is, dogs are NOT adorable to everyone!
The point is, the owners are NOT responsible and are totally contemptuous of all around them!
Apparently “Ye Olde Dog Lover” OWNS a dog, so let me ask him and any other dog owners reading this:
Do you stop your animal from yelping mindlessly for hours on end at all hours of the day and night, or do you assume the usual doggist idiot grin and comment something along the lines of “look, fwuffy’s talking to his fwiend”?
Of course you let it yelp.
Do you ignore your neighbours, or worse, insult and threaten them when all they ask for is some respite from your annoying mutt?
Of course you do, your neighbours mean nothing to you.
Do you allow your animal to run freely, sniff, paw, slobber over and intimidate anyone who happens to be around?
Of course you do. But I forgot, your dog is special, and ever so friendly.
Do you clean up after your tube of filth when it fouls public spaces?
Of course not, unless you think someone is watching you.
Do you simply assume that you can bring your dirty animal to other people’s homes and work or recreational areas?
Of course you do, because “everyone loves Fluffy”.
And have you really trained your useless animal to do anything except sit and beg, and yelp on request?
Of course not.
If you answered honestly, then you will be posting an apology.
And no, I will not get a dog, as the writer suggests. The idea of living with a mindless, soulless animal that is quite content to live in its own filth disgusts me, and in any case I have too much respect for my neighbours.
I suggest “Ye Olde Dog Lover” spends less time loving his dog and learns to associate with people instead. Or at the very least try to develop some respect and consideration for those around him.
