Lo-so suspects named, but media kowtows to hi-so suspects

Re: “Three politicians caught up in Nakhon Ratchasima underage prostitution”, The Nation, June 21

Meanwhile, not yet one single utterance of outrage from the man who only recently felt incredibly offended by the onstage gyrations of a singer and was convinced that her comparatively harmless antics would paint Thai culture in a terribly negative light.

These are our leaders; violating 14-16-year-old girls. Truly, truly disgusting. And yes, these types of people are our neighbours!

Please legalise prostitution and use your forces to battle underage prostitution with even more severe punishments.

Nice thought, but the cops make more money from keeping it illegal. Big pay day for them catching politicians – they have plenty of money and don’t want their names smeared by something like this.

Why no names for the three politicians? If they were lo-so, even mid-so folks, their names would be in all the media regardless of whether they were guilty or not – par for the course for decades. To The Nation: please tell us who ordered their names to be withheld, and why didn’t you (The Nation) publish their names just as you do with lo-so and mid-so folks? So much for media reform.
Scorecard
So the only person to be named in this scandal is the resort caretaker, while the three mystery politicians have their names withheld. Looks like once again only the small fish will be taking all the blame.
