For some expats, basic freedoms in Thailand stop at the right to shop  

Sometimes I wish PM Prayut had used Article 44 to require expats to wear an armband in public, with a colour code denoting their visa status and nationality and a strict instruction to report to Immigration every 30 days. Nah, make it 15.
If that were the case, I wonder if A Johnsen would still be fawning all over the dictator. I doubt it very much. It seems that the only concern of expats like A Johnsen is that there are no street shutdowns under the junta’s rule, so their daily activities are not interrupted. 
They don’t care about the widespread repression and about people being jailed, keys thrown away, for not kow-towing to the soldiers in charge of the country.
