Keep Hollywood hype out of Thai Buddhism 

First of all, I appreciate the respect for Buddhism shown by letter-writer Marcus Baltzer, a non-Buddhist. 
I do not, however, appreciate the way that Wat Tha Kien in Nonthaburi was disrespected as a sacred Thai temple with a display of huge Transformer robots. What was the idea behind that stunt? Our temples are places of peace that offer calmness for the soul. They are not Disneyland, and there is no need to attract tourists with such an un-Buddhist spectacle. I would ask that the people behind this stunt reconsider their actions and offer reparation.
