Whether it’s playground bullies, or dictators and demagogues, peace is only maintained where respect exists. Bullies do not attack those they fear are stronger than they are and the same principle applies between countries. Respect comes from fear and fear controls the world.
Peace is maintained through strength not weakness. It is maintained through fear of superior retaliation. President Trump is well aware of that. That is why he wants an exceptionally strong military and why he wants the borders of his country controlled. Unlike his predecessors President Trump makes it quite clear that if he is hit once, he will hit back twice. Kim Jong-un knows that, and so does President Putin and the rest of the world. The US has a very big punch.
Complimenting President Putin on his re-election is not a weakness. It shows maturity and self-assurance. It’s another sign of strength. It’s parochial to suggest otherwise. Clare Holzer is absolutely correct on this point.
Are we not getting just a little tired of the verbosity of this supercilious contributor who claims to have a doctorate. Nothing original seems to emanate from this “learned” source, only empty criticism of others who take the trouble to think.
