A decision with fatal consequences

A decision with fatal consequences

Re: “Is Thailand equipped to execute the death penalty properly?”, Have Your Say, June 25.

It only seems fair that the Thai government should stop capital punishment on the day criminals pledge to stop killing innocent people.

Maybe you don’t know it, but the death penalty cannot be reversed. In a country with a good working police and justice system even, 4-5 per cent of those executed were not guilty.
Killing an innocent man is a state-condoned murder. And no, the death penalty does not minimise crime, it is said it makes crime more violent.

With the increase of killings of innocent women and children in Thailand, I think it’s good they don’t abolish capital punishment. Some criminals just deserve to die.
Why waste taxpayers’ money on feeding them in prison? It will save cell space too.
