German man found dead on drifting yacht in southern Philippines
MANILA - A German national was found dead inside a drifting yacht in the southern Philippines, police said Saturday.
The man was identified to be Manfred Fritz Bajorat of Germany, based on documents recovered from the yacht, police investigator Val Warren Polancos said.
Fishermen found the decomposing body inside the radio room of the yacht that was floating in the seas off Barobo town in Surigao del Sur province, 877 kilometres south of Manila, on Friday, he added.
Authorities were still determining the cause of the death, and have been in touch with the German Embassy for more information about the man.
