Woman arrested for allegedly robbing Rayong gold shop
A woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing Bt220,000 worth of gold jewellery from a gold shop in Rayong’s Pluak Daeng district.
Police said Boontaeng Chinphukhiaw, 36, was arrested Tuesday when she returned to her home in Chon Buri’s Sri Racha district.
She allegedly asked to see gold necklaces and bracelets at the Phumthan gold shop at 2pm on Monday before grabbing a gold necklace and two bracelets and fleeing on her motorcycle.
Police learned Boontaeng’s identity from the shop’s security cameras and police staked out at her house until she returned home on Tuesday.
She said she had sold the bracelets to pay her mortgage loan and retrieve her car. Police found the gold necklace in her closet.
